Contrast and More Morre

A Reflective Review By Andrea Garrison - Onlinewithandrea

While I am reflecting on Morre, this wonderful band from Canada I am listening to Contrast their latest CD released on The Melodic Revolution Records label. Believe me at this moment while listening to Morre I am not sitting still. Each tune just flows perfectly and melodiously from one to the next. Individually each track stands solid adding a special dimension to the entire CD experience. I love their sound which is why I play their music so often on my radio program and I will continue to do so. Morre is exciting and one of the best independent bands on the music scene today. They are excellent musicians with a great, carefully produced, meticulous sound and they have an amazing stage presence which is obvious by watching their videos. If there is any band on the scene today that deserves to be recognized on a global scale it is definitely Morre. They are more than studio musicians. They are ready to take the show on the road in a big way. I am looking forward to their next release and I am also looking forward to seeing Morre live. I guarantee that with Morre you will always get more than you bargained for and you will always want to hear and see more of Morre. I can just see it and feel it. Embodying Osiris

A Review By Andrea R. Garrison – Onlinewithandrea

Embodying Osiris The Secrets of Alchemical Transformation by Thom F. Cavalli, Ph.D. is a groundbreaking integration of Jungian Psychology, Alchemy and Egyptian Mythology. This is a fascinating book that takes you into the life of Osiris the Egyptian God of fertility, death, resurrection and the leader of the underworld. The Egyptians view death as an integral part of the journey into the afterlife or eternal life. In this book Dr. Cavalli explains, “Through a deep understanding we learn that death is not to be feared. Once the fear of death is gone then the journey of life is transformed. Instead, death is a teacher that shows us how creating comes by way of loss and regeneration.” What is so great about this book is that it actually helps us to create unlimited possibilities simply by embracing the stillness, facing our fears, and then releasing them to allow a clearing so the light of life can take hold. When the fear of death is gone then we can accept life as it continues. When we overcome this fear of death and when we can unveil the dark side we are in fact embodying the spirit of Osiris who lives and transforms all of us. Dr. Cavalli writes that, “if we are sufficiently still-as still as a corpse-eternity enters us. Then a God may come into our being, bringing eternity to mind and the experience of continual creation. Becoming isn’t something that begins and ends with our time on earth but rather is an emergent property of the universe. We can now embrace Osiris as an alchemical figure representing eternity in time, the ceaseless process of becoming and individuating in which birth and death are only markers along the way. Osiris, born of earth and sky, is very much like us, and we, like him, die and resurrect.” What I like about this book is that we are asked to view and understand Osiris as a way to a deeper and greater exploration of self. This book and the concepts within are worthy of revisiting on an on-going basis because it is this exploration, constant change and transformation that keeps us grounded and steady on this path. It is this endless journey that leads to a greater understanding of self and thus a greater understanding of the universe.
