Wings Of Change

Story by Franklin Hill, Ph.D.
Illustrations by Aries Cheung

An Illumination Arts Publishing Company Storybook for all ages

A Review by Andrea R. Garrison – onlinewithandrea

When I first heard about this award winning story book called The Wings Of Change (by Franklin Hill, Ph.D. and Illustrations by Aries Cheung) and the fact that it talked about this wonderful caterpillar called Anew I was thrilled. I have always had a passion for butterflies and the symbolism of their magnificent transformation from a precious creature that crawls to this awesome delicate creature that flies and spreads beauty every where it lands. This story book is about the struggles of the caterpillar called Anew who represents so many of us who are currently in a seemingly comfortable place/stage in life. It is easy to stay in the comfort zone. It is not easy to make subtle or bold moves without apprehension and fear. Yet we learn as Anew does that change is constant and the beauty of the present is that it propels us forward to the next level. When we watch Anew make his powerful transformation into the beautiful delightful butterfly we are reminded of this wonderful evolutionary process. It is through dreams and a special friend called Faith that Anew begins to relax more and to let go of the fears and the anxiety that fills his spirit. Once he releases and relaxes, the transformation takes hold and Anew moves into the next stage of his journey, his destiny which is to become a butterfly.

When you open the Wings Of Change story book on the inside cover it reads:

Wings Of Change is the story of Anew, a contented little caterpillar who is afraid to become a butterfly. After experiencing, some puzzling dreams, he turns to Faith, a wise old snail, for advice. She gently explains,

As the world turns,

So do you

When you change for the good,

You change the world too...

Wings Of Change is a humorous, tender, heart inspired wonderful story book for children and adults. Dr. Hill an acclaimed educational futurist has truly done an excellent job at creating a story that reminds adults and teaches children at an early age about the beauty of change, transformation and the evolvement of each of us on this journey. Illustrator Aries Cheung did a splendid colorful job of bringing this story to life. I love the Wings of Change. I highly recommend this book for all ages and for all stages in life. It will inspire you to embrace your wings and fly. Indigo Awakening By Dr. Janine Talty

A Doctor’s Memoir of Forging an Authentic Life in a Turbulent World

A Review By Andrea R. Garrison - onlinewithandrea

When I heard that Dr. Janine Talty was writing a book called the Indigo Awakening I was excited about reading her story. Indigo Awakening is the true story of one child’s journey while growing up with fantastic extraordinary abilities. Dr. Talty shares her life experiences including her evolvement as she begins to understand who she is, why she is and her true destiny. The book did not disappoint me. Once I picked it up I could not put it down. I found it to be inspiring, insightful and informative. I felt like I was watching a film or actually right there beside her every step of the way for every challenge and every triumph because I could see everything and understand it so clearly. Indigo Awakening raises the following questions:

Are you perceptive beyond the abilities of the people around you?
Do you have a sense that the world is about to change forever?
Do you believe that you’re here on Earth to assist that global shift?
Are you unplugging from systems and behaviors that used to make you feel secure?
Do you have the sense that you’ve been preparing for something, but don’t know what it is?
Have you noticed magical abilities to seek, feel, hear, move and transduce energy?
Do you have maladies that doctors can’t explain?
Have you suspected that your suffering might be part of humanity’s clearing of collective patterns?

If you have asked yourself any of these questions, tried to overcome a major challenge or if you or some one close to you are dyslexic you will definitely want to read this book. When you read the experiences of Dr. Janine Talty you will learn that every challenge and every triumph helps us to grow and to move on to the next level in our evolvement on this incredible journey of life. Indigos can find comfort in the knowledge that there are many who share in this journey. Despite the challenges that many are experiencing today if you read this story you will know that you can overcome any obstacle as long as you do not give up. You will be inspired, uplifted and encouraged to continue the race and to finish it by moving onward and upward. If you want a true understanding of the Indigo person the Indigo Awakening by Dr. Janine Talty is the perfect guide and a wonderful insightful book to read. Dr. Talty has truly done a great service in sharing her experiences and in telling her story. Indigo Awakening is a publication of Elite Books. Chakra Gardens Opening the Senses of the Soul by Carol Cumes

A Book Review by Andrea R. Garrison - onlinewithandrea

Chakra Gardens – Opening The Senses Of The Soul- the award winning book by Carol Cumes will take you on a very special meditative reflective journey. If you need a vacation from every day life this is definitely the trip to take. When I saw the book cover and starting reading it all I could say was wow. The photography by Greg Asbury is spectacular and reading about the philosophy behind the Chakra Gardens is fascinating and enlightening. Each page just gets better and better. I enjoyed visiting every single garden which included the earth garden, water garden, sun garden, heart garden, sound garden, spiral garden and the Lucuma Tree Garden. The book has such a calming, healing effect. Different colors are associated with certain aspects of the garden and specific chakra points. Red is the primary color in the earth garden which includes Carnations, Fuchsias, Gladioli’s, Hibiscus, Poppies and Roses. Ruda a yellow flower is the signature plant of the Sun Garden, Blues and turquoise colors stimulate the throat chakra and are widely displayed in the Sound Garden. The Aloe Vera plant which is one of the most highly valued healing plants in the Sacred Valley is the main plant in the water garden. The spiral garden colorfully displays the power of the circle in opening up intuition and spiritual reflection. The Lucuma Tree Garden is the grand maestro of all of the gardens with this ancient tree that is thousands of years old at the center. This wise magnificent tree which represents unity is greatly honored in Peru. By reading this book you will have an incredible glimpse at this tranquil Andean retreat that is breathtaking, magnificent for the eye and food for the soul while it teaches you how to create your own garden oasis regardless of location and space. The beauty of the Chakra Garden is definitely beyond words. It will truly open up your heart center and awaken your senses. It is absolutely exquisite. When you purchase this book you will be supporting the spirit of Ayni which follows the natural principle of balanced giving and receiving. All of the proceeds from this precious book, after printing expenses go directly to the Willka T’ika Children’s Fund a 501 C3 charity which provides school materials and more to the Andean children and their dedicated teachers in remote areas of the Peruvian Andes. Who Does She Think She Is???

A Review By Andrea R. Garrison-onlinewithandrea
unrated
Directors: Pamela Tanner Boll, Nancy Kennedy
Length 84: Mins
A Mystic Artist Film Productions ©2008
Contact: whodoesshethinksheis.net

Who does she think she is? It is indeed a good question. In this case it is a wonderful, engaging documentary film featuring the Academy Award Winning Director Pamela Tanner Boll and her co-Director Nancy Kennedy who has assembled an outstanding crew to bring forth the stories, the work, the talent of five women artists. The women artists are Maye Torres a thirteenth generation Taosena, Janis Wunderlich a Mormon mother of five children, Mayumi Oda who was born in Japan right after World War II, Camille Musser, a painter living in Cambridge, Massachusetts and Angela Williams, mother of two nearly-teen-age girls who got married when she was 20. This film presents a glimpse of their incredible journey as they struggle with parenting, creativity, partnering, independence, economics, art, and their determination to be true to themselves. It is a heartwarming look at five different women artists who share so much though their backgrounds and geographic locations are miles apart. So Who Does She Think She Is? It is a portrait of women artists who have great stories to share. It is an important film and a must see for everyone because even though it is featuring women the stories go so far beyond gender to the core of all of us which is to have dreams, to manifest them and to make an honorable comfortable living doing what we love most. Who Does She Think She Is???It is a work of art and a must see in the theater. It is a great purchase to add to your DVD collection. Look for the DVD release this fall. A Look Beyond and Beneath the Skin

A Review
By Andrea R. Garrison - onlinewithandrea
Director Anthony Fabian starring Sophie Okonedo, Sam Neill, Alice Krige
Length: 107 Minutes
A Jour de Fete Release © 2009
Contact: skinthemovie.net

I love “Skin” – It is an important thought provoking, heart opening film Directed by Anthony Fabian with an outstanding cast including Sophie Okonedo, Sam Neill and Alice Krige. Skin is an extraordinary true story of Sandra Laing, a South African child who is distinctly African looking, born to White Afrikaners who are unaware of their Black ancestry. It is a must see for everyone around the world. It is about family, forgiveness and the triumph of the human spirit. When the issue of Skin touches a family it truly goes to the heart of the matter which is love. Skin brings the issue of race and skin to another dimension when it touches this family. What this film encourages and inspires is that we must go beyond the “Skin” and the physical. We must deal with people heart to heart beneath the surface of the “Skin.” When you do that you are transformed because the heart reflects love and love brings peace!!! With all of our so called outer differences beneath the surface the flesh looks the same. I am thankful to Director Anthony Fabian for listening to the story and bringing it to film with such sensitivity and style. It is truly about all of us going deeper and encouraging others to do the same. It is beautifully acted!!! It is beautifully directed and you will enjoy listening to the music that gently moves the film along. Skin should have a long life in theaters, at home and in schools around the world. There are not many classics being made these days. Skin is definitely a classic!!!Listen to my interviews with Skin Director Anthony Fabian and Composer Helene Muddiman.

Totally Featuring Kimleigh Smith Directed by Paula Killen

A Review by Andrea R. Garrison - onlinewithandrea

Totally the one woman show written and performed by Kimleigh Smith is excellent. Knowing the subject matter (being gang raped in college) before witnessing her incredible performance at the Teatro La Tea Theater in New York City, I had anticipated feeling a bit somber about it. Actually after seeing this play I was amazed at the range of emotions that I experienced while watching this totally awesome performance. Kimleigh is a fantastic writer, a wonderful story teller, a great singer, dancer and an amazing actress. If you wait to meet her after the show you will find her to be an extremely warm, beautiful, genuine person with a lot of energy, heart and spirit. I suggest you take the time to experience Totally. You will be totally entertained, totally impressed and totally moved. She will make you laugh, cry and totally cheer her on as she makes this inspiring transformation from being broken to being whole again. Totally should be on every college campus as well as every major theater in every major city including Broadway in NYC. For more information on Totally and Kimleigh Smith please visit her website totallykimleigh.com. Also learn more about Kimleigh in the onlinewithandrea interview. Punctured Hope Sheds Light

A Review by Andrea R. Garrison

Punctured Hope a Toronto Pictures release by Director Bruno Pischiutta and Executive Producer Daria Trifu takes place in Ghana. It is a true story about Trokosi and a young girl’s slavery in today’s West Africa that includes genital mutilation and sexual abuse. Belinda Siamey who plays Edinam gives an incredible performance in this heart wrenching true story that is simply done yet compelling and memorable. There is something to be said for an incredible story and the beauty of simplicity. Bruno has managed the art of taking a complex, subject and presenting it tastefully, simply with sensitivity. The moon has a special significance in terms of the luminance that it brings to the darkness throughout the film. Punctured Hope is an excellent film that sheds light on a topic that is so often buried yet it continues. I highly recommend that you take the time to see Punctured Hope and I promise that the end is worth waiting for. It is moving and unforgettable. Listen to my interview with Bruno and Daria to get the inside scoop on the making of Punctured Hope and the latest from Toronto Pictures. (c) 2009 all rights reserved.
